It’s a famous square in Palermo’s historical centre, between the old city and the sea, in the middle of an old district called ‘Kalsa’. At Piazza Marina, you can find the nineteenth-century Villa Garibaldi (Garibaldi Garden) which hosts some ancient and spectacular specimens of Ficus Benjamin. You can also find a number of historical buildings, such as Palazzo Chiaramonte (Palace Chiaramonte), Palazzo Mirto (Palace Mirto), the Church of Santa Maria della Catena (Saint Mary of the chain), and the International Museum of Puppets.
On Sundays, you can enjoy visiting a characteristic market where you can find all kinds of antique pieces.
